This is an important time to support alternative and independent media.  People are creating their own media because the global, advertising-driven corporate media too-often marginalizes local culture, art, news and religion in the quest for the maximized shareholder value from "one world under the golden arches".  People around the world are developing community-based forms of communications from web logs to video collectives. These are the media that our festival seeks to strengthen and celebrate.
