Is public access TV prevalent across the country? Print E-mail

Yes.  There are more than 950 public access channels in the United States.  In Indiana, many cities, large and small, including Ft. Wayne, Speedway, Beech Grove,  Richmond, Carmel, and Bloomington offer public access.  According to the Alliance for Community Media, thousands of community groups and over one million people  produce more than 20,000 hours of new local Public, Education and Government (PEG) access programming each week, which is more than all the major networks, NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox and PBS combined.
