The Festival will feature:

Keynote speaker NYU Professor George C. Stoney.

Keynote speaker George C. Stoney will screen his new film, GETTING OUT

Get Involved:

George Stoney, cofounder of the Alternative Media Center in New York City and Paulette Goddard Professor of Film and TV at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, is the keynote speaker. Stoney, one of the most influential and inspired figures in international documentary, has written, directed and produced over 50 documentaries and TV series, and will be previewing his new film, GETTING OUT ,  in Indianapolis during the festival. Throughout his 60+ year career, George Stoney has been a visionary advocate for socially engaged media.  

Workshops on developing the skills to create, distribute and organize alternative media, as well as ways we can work together to preserve our right to a democratic media, including:

  • Studio Master Class with George Stoney
  • Community Media and Visual Arts
  • Experiences in Organizing Local Grassroots Media in the Heartland
  • Media and Social Action Panel
  • Broadcasters, Public Interest, and Accountability
  • Indigenous Voices in Mexico and Central America

Networking for media organizations and community groups to develop coherent strategies for responding to and covering local events and issues.

Screenings of independent and activist-produced films and videos.

The Director's Cut Reception will be held at the Wheeler Arts Community on the evening of Friday, July 30,  to recognize top volunteers, donors and sponsors.
