Settlement plan will make current Comcast subscribers pay an extra $304k to cover Comcast's underreporting of revenues.
The Indianapolis Cable Franchise Board voted 2-1 on Monday, March 15, 2004 to accept a settlement of $677k from Comcast for underpaid franchise fees. Comcast's regional President Rusty Robertson noted Comcast's plan to "pass-through" some $304k of the total as an additional assessment for current Comcast customers. Indianapolis Star as saying, "They were not forthcoming in reporting the revenues that they should have." Rick Maultra, Director of the Cable Communications Agency, was quoted in the Only Board Member Daniel Lynch protested the basic unfairness of this settlement agreement and voted against it. |
