Something to Prove – From Gaza to the U.S.A. (Short Film) – 15 girls and 15 boys from the Gaza Strip travel to the United States. For most of them, it was the first time they had left Gaza in their lives. This film follows the boys and girls on their journey. One Family in Gaza (Short Film) – Palestinians in Gaza are depicted either as violent terrorists or as helpless victims. The Awajah family challenges both portrayals. Through one family’s story, the larger tragedy of Gaza is exposed, and the courage and resilience of its people shines through. The Palestine Film Festival is an event to showcase films which help educate Americans across the United States about the situation in Palestine and the need for an equitable U.S. policy toward Palestine that advances freedom and equality for the Palestinian people. The 2011 festival will run from April 20 to May 5, 2011 in central Indiana (Indianapolis, Bloomington and Plainfield). See the Indianapolis Facebook page for the schedule of film screenings.
