Peacemaking is a philosophical as well as practical activity that requires patience, moral imagination, as well as astute regard for the history of conflicts between peoples and nations. Join two global peacemakers as they compare their experiences reconciling disparate political, religious, and geographic histories and sensibilities.
Betty Williams was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1976 for her work in Northern Ireland; Rajmohan Gandhi is an historian, biographer of his grandfather Mohandas K. Gandhi (known by the honorific title Mahatma Gandhi), and cofounder of the Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation in South Asia. Facilitated by Dr. Bill Ayres, director of University of Indianapolis' International Relations Program. | | (58:17) |
